wolfishsurvivalist: (Drunks punks and delinquents)
"To the fallen!" The first time she'd heard those words had been in passing, eyes wide in the murky light in the Quicksand at evening time, ushered quickly away by the person who was guiding her about Ul'dah. It had been little more than a curiosity, puzzling in that moment and quickly forgotten.

"To the fallen!" The first time she'd heard those words said about someone she knew, she'd been slow to lift her cup, numb from shock, fingers still trembling. Mika had helped carry the body of their fallen comrade, the ride back to town had been grim and lost in a haze of her own tears. She'd said the words in reply, but her heart and mind still reeled at the loss, unable to wrap themselves about them with the full gravity of the violence that had happened. So quickly had they been snatched away, laughing and jesting but moments before the attack, and struck down in a moment of inattentiveness. It had felt like a physical blow, punched clean through her chest and leaving an awful, chill ache behind.

It was then that a thought began to creep into her mind, taking root in the cold of her heart. Never again, it whispered. Never again.

"To the fallen!" The first time she'd said those words herself, it had been a battlecry. A shout of defiance with fangs bared that had been answered by a roar about her as the entire tavern stood with flagons raised. The sounds of chairs scraping, mugs slamming against solid oak as a testament to how many had been lost. How many had been snatched from grasping fingers, lost to wave and sand and tree. Those who had been broken upon stone and valley and cobblestone alleyway. It was a shout that echoed in too many hearts, too many faces a mirror of her own anger at their loss.

"To the fallen. May they burn bright amidst the darkness, a flame eternal in the Lifestream's flow." The first time she'd written those words, it had been like lancing a wound. The names were too many to count, but they'd filled pages, each record brought to mind a face, a laugh, a nervous little twitch of fingers that had once been so familiar but was fading day by day from memory. So she lit the incense, laying her book of names before the smoke and burning flames of the candles before she bowed her head to pray.

To the fallen, may they never be forgotten.

Think I need to work on something? Have something to say? Let me know!
wolfishsurvivalist: (Pew Pew f*ckers!)
This is made for your convenience as Mika Whitepaws is Genre Savvy!

This is a Permission to Fourthwall post.

While her Savviness is not as high as notorious fourthwallers Deadpool and Travis Touchdown, like any good nerd she knows her stuff. And while she doesn't cross the fourthwall barrier into talking to the audience territory (that's crazy people talk), she is well-read and up-to-date on the latest console and movie releases up to the summer of 2010, and since then she's seen what the town allows her. The question lies in do you want her to make canon references or casual remarks that might sound a little too familiar to your characters. Please feel free to drop me a line here and give me (and Mika) a heads-up!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU DON'T WANT MIKA TO FOURTHWALL YOUR CHARACTERS. That would be awkward for everyone involved if I didn't know you aren't comfortable with it and go and do it anyway. So please let me know what you think!

Also since she's from an Alternate Earth, please feel free to let me know if you're fine with certain details being a little...off about your characters. Like Mika remembering Captain America as being a dog man instead of completely human. Small things like that.

All in all her knowledge is designed entirely for hijinks and fun. I'm not going to have her ruin people's day and warn everyone about terrible bad guys since frankly, she's got better things to worry about. Unless you want her to run through the apartments crying wolf. Either way, please give me a ring and I'm looking forward to having her troll either intentionally or otherwise as the players and mods see fit!

[A. Streets]

[Walking home from the hospital, Mika moves slowly, finding things to rest against in her halting trip. Her head is bandaged and her limbs tremble from the strain. The weakness in her bad leg seems to have gotten much worse. Strange spidery blotches mark her legs, and her feet seem to be bandaged as well from what can be seen around her shoes.]

[B. 339 Brady Lane]

[When Mika pushes open the door, her voice is hushed as she calls out to her housemates.]

Quinn? Raz? Are you guys home?

[She will all but collapse onto the couch, curling up defensively.]
wolfishsurvivalist: (Voices can't hurt you don't listen)
[A. 339 Brady Lane | backdated to Saturday morning]

[Mika had wondered what the sounds were, but as soon as she realized what exactly she was seeing shambling down the street, she immediately began fortifying the house.

Because if there was one thing Mika knew a lot about, it was zombie apocalypses. You do not pass as a fan of the horror genre without any rudimentary knowledge of zombies, and Mika knows a lot.

Which is why she is laying traps in the front yard and digging ditches into it with a lead pipe at her side and a chainsaw within easy grabbing distance. She's muttering angrily to herself and limping around the yard like someone on a mission.

A mission that involves splattering anything undead that gets too close to her house with extreme prejudice and malice.
]

[B. Around town | Monday afternoon]

[There's a sobbing sound coming from outside the Brady Lane house, and Mika has left a note saying she can't stay. She's left her house key beneath the porch mat so she can't get back in once she's locked it behind her, picking her way through the traps she's left behind before running off.

She's easily spotted limping down the sidewalk, her dress splattered with gore and her lead pipe coated with it as she whimpers softly, rubbing her eyes like she's trying not to cry.
]

[C. Streets | Tuesday]

[The decay has set in with full force. There's blood on her dress from where her skin split and veins necrotized mixed in with the gore from fighting zombies, and she walks around sobbing uncontrollably with a hand over her face. Her pipe is still clutched tightly in one hand as she stumbles around, sniffling and whimpering even as her skin tries sloughing off around where her shoes rub her heels and ankles.]

I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I don't mean to, I don't mean to...somebody please, help me. Somebody help me, it hurts, it hurts...Please help me!

[It seems like Mika is still dedicated to taking out the zombie hordes, but will beg and plead with living characters to get them to help her. But the question lies in what does she need help with? Only characters willing to get close to her will find out.]
