[A. Phone | Filtered from Herr Major]

Hey guys, I know this is going to sound fairly unusual but I have a couple requests to make. There's a few new kids in town, really young, and I just want to make sure they'll be safe if things go completely insane around here. Also there's a girl who needs protection from her house's father, and I wanted to know if anyone would be willing to let her stay with them. I have a nasty feeling that her assigned dad might come looking to drag her back, and from what I know he's a pretty nasty guy in a fight. So if anyone is willing to let her stay with them, if he finds out she's not coming back save to avoid droning, things might get ugly.

I just want to know she'll be safe. Unfortunately this guy could easily wipe out everyone at my house, and I don't want to promise her I'll keep her safe only to fail miserably. This is a really risky request, and she'll need someone to go with her when she stops back in at her assigned house to avoid droning.

Please, if anyone's willing to take me up on this, I need to find someplace safer for her immediately.

[B. Streets: Early evening]

[Mika is limping a little less today, leaning on her cane only a little as she hobbles down the sidewalk with a huge basket in hand. It's a picnic basket. Whatever's in it is covered with a cloth, and despite her cryptic phone call earlier, she seems to be particularly cheerful, humming softly and her tail wagging as she makes her way down the street.]

Thank you, I really appreciate it. Who can I say I'm talking to?

Virginia Maxwell, at your service.

[...okaaaaaay. at least he's from a world where it's not like robots are uncommon or the technology to make cyborgs, eventually so it's not THAT surprising. he guesses.]

Oh. [like it makes SO MUCH SENSE.] I guess being a regular nazi was too boring, huh.

Does he have the whole package? Super strength, speed and...whatever else cyborgs have? [at this point, he's just relying on movie logic here. works so well lately.]

I have no idea, and I really don't want to find out. I know he's impervious to a lot of attacks though. I'd have to ask people who've fought him, but I only know one and I don't think she really wants to talk about it.

[The sound she makes is unhappy and very canine.]

That makes sense, I guess. [considering that the unmanned AIs needed more than a couple of missiles to take down. sigh.] I've only just gotten here; I definitely don't have the equipment needed to take something on like that, but I'll admit that I do have experience with robots - just none quite on the scale of an actual cyborg.

Who is this guy? I'd like to inquire more about him from other sources.

How young is she? Would she be all right home alone during the day, or would she need to come to work as well?

I'm happy to do whatever is needed, including picking her up. It's good that she has someone looking out for her like you're doing.

Between sixteen and eighteen, I'm not sure. I have no idea, I didn't talk to her much.

I'm not doing much, Riza. I...I can't do anything. What if this only makes things worse?

So much for her to choose from! XD

First of all, keeping new arrivals informed. It'll be a lot easier if everyone knows what kind of strange things have happened here before.

Second of all, keeping everyone informed during events. From what I've seen and heard, the milk thing could have been better handled if people had communicated.

And lastly, fighting to resist and protect.

Also, gathering any information we can to figure out who brought us here, how they did it, and why.

I've only been here two months or so, but even still, I'm not exactly a fighter. I'm lucky I haven't been killed yet.

The only name I know him by is the Major. I don't know if he has another name or what. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

ahhh ha ha

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I already have been telling people what I know, even if I haven't been here for very long, so I guess I could do that.

I...well. Keeping people informed during these breakouts of lunacy only works if you're coherent and last time I definitely wasn't.

[She doesn't really want to explain what happened to her when she drank the drugged milk. It was awful.]

I'm Mika Whitepaws. Thank you, miss. I'll definitely let her know about it.

If this is about who I think it is, while others will shelter her at their houses, I will stay with her the nights she must stay in her assigned house.

My name is Arf and I'm working with Sanguinius and others to protect the people from those that prey upon the weak. I am especially focused on keeping the children safe.

[phone: private]

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Ah...thank you.

[Wait. Head...tilt.]

Your name is Arf?

[She makes a low sound deep in her throat as she purses her lips. Well. She'd make a comment on that but it's impolite. Snorting softly, she shakes her head to discard the thought and focus on what's important.]

If we're both talking about Usagi, then yes. She's stronger than she looks, but the kind of monsters she's used to are nothing like the Major. I don't want her to be left alone in a place like that, so thank you.

[identity profile] fatefullfriend.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Arf makes a disgruntled sound in the back of her throat - not quite a growl but definitely canine in nature.]

I was named by an innocent seven year old child that never had any real social interaction. It is a good name.

[Now that they had that over, Arf's tone softens.]

We are talking about the same child. Usagi is a friend of mine. Another and myself have already gone and extracted one form of justice from the Major for what he did to her during the time of the milk. Unfortunately, I don't think the lesson will stick.

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
[She whuffs softly, her ears twitching forward as a faint smile tugs at her mouth. Seven-year-olds can be forgiven for small things like that.]

Well, that explains everything. It is a good name.

[The smile in her voice dissipates instantly though, and a distressed whine filters into her words.]

He's insane, I don't think any form of punishment will change him. He's a monster, plain and simple, it's not safe. I just...I'm worried he might start hurting other people to get to her and make things unbearable for her. I wouldn't be surprised.

Being trapped there is breaking her, I only talked to her once after the milk mess and I could tell. I've been meaning to ask this ever since.

That's why we must make sure to have a bigger information network. Whatever Mayfield does can't possibly take everyone out at once.

Keep spreading the information to the new arrivals. Maybe even give them a copy of this letter (http://buildstherobots.livejournal.com/12857.html).

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Got it. I'll keep on it, then.

Letter? What letter? There's a letter?

[This is news to her she never got one when she first arrived.]

He reminds me of someone my master spent years pursuing. Perhaps incarceration is the only way to deal with him properly if continual death doesn't act as a proper deterrent.

[She falls silent for a moment.]

Do you know if there are means in which to change one's assigned house?

[phone: private]

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
If they can make a cell that'll hold him, then yeah.

[Arf can't see the way Mika's shaking her head, but there's a defeated sound to her voice.]

No, I don't know. I've only been here for two months, I don't know anything about that.

[phone: private]

[identity profile] fatefullfriend.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe those that have been here a long time will know the answer.

[identity profile] flowers-suck.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
[She hands over the letter, and another copy for her to keep for herself. She doesn't mind distributing them, she's spent part of her nights copying them for this reason.]

Well, the resistance kind of fell apart the last time I left, and this letter hasn't been circulating very well since then.

I hope so. I'd ask but I don't know who's been here the longest.

Luck might not have much to do with it; just because you don't know how to pick up a weapon doesn't mean you aren't resourceful.

No, that's good enough for now. I'll look into it, see what I can do.

Um - what about the other kids? Do you know their names?

I'll see if Fate knows.
