History: Her world is not unlike the one we know today, but whether it was by magic, natural selection, or human design, several species similar to humans but with more animal traits began to appear over the course of history dating as far back as the middle ages. No one quite knew their origins, and while they were rare and had to deal with prejudice as much as anyone of racial color, they slowly began to integrate into society until they were seen as equals to everyone else.

Born the youngest (and grew up to be the smallest) in a family of wolf crossbreeds, Mika lived an average life. They were neither poor nor rich, the family argued sometimes but was generally loving and supportive, they went to church on Sundays and Mika did fairly decent in school. Aside from being teased a lot for being the one with the weird ears and the tail. She specialized in languages and arts (though she enjoyed science occasionally), was absolutely miserable in math and physical education, but always had an interest in the paranormal and horror. When she grew up, she loved horror videogames and movies, even if she couldn't actually play them herself (she had a bad habit of screaming and throwing her controller to someone else).

In fact, Mika's fairly knowledgeable in the ways of survival horror. She's a veteran of zombie flicks and videogames, and her ring of friends in college were fans of the genre. Between them they were something of a walking encyclopedia of facts from how to fortify a building against a zombie invasion to the best way to take out a malevolent spirit. Mika knows best about zombies, but knows that when the lights start flickering for no reason, it's usually a Bad Sign. Unfortunately, her usual reserves of information as to the supernatural aren't with her this time, and it doesn't look like there's any way to possibly phone home...

Personality: Mika is laid back, usually carefree, and enjoys her fair share of sleep and good food. While she loves paranormal and horror stuff, it scares her senseless and leaves her a little paranoid and twitchy for days. The same happens whenever she "senses" something. Although to be honest, if you saw spectral forms lurking around in your living room in the middle of the night, you'd probably freak out too. She's protective of her friends, and a little bit clingy since the taunting while she was a cub left her feeling a little anxious about the idea of losing her friends. She knows she's usually the odd one out, and doesn't want to be abandoned for it.

Mika is also a bit of a closet geek. It doesn't usually show, since she rarely dresses the part, but get her talking about something she really enjoys and she'll be at it for at least a half an hour. When she does something she likes, it's obvious, as her wolf ears and tail telegraph all her emotions. When she's comfortable in her surroundings, she'll be noisy and playful, but in a place where she's on edge she's more likely to be standoffish and react with snarls and bared teeth. Considering she's got a rather impressive set of fangs, that's not an idle threat.

Biggest Fear: Mika has a problem with several things, two of the worst are spiders (though she hates most insects), and needles. Spiders mostly because they're disgustingly creepy and have too many legs, and she's allergic to their bites on top of that. The fear of needles comes from a hospitalization when she was very young, as someone managed to perforate their IV line. It wasn't a pretty picture, and she gets a little queasy whenever blood or sharp things are involved. Aside from that, she's also anxious about the idea of being crippled from injury, or being locked in a tight place with no way out.

Powers: Aside from being mostly human with a few wolf traits, Mika is unfortunately normal. The only thing that comes close to being a 'power' is the inherited ability to sense or see the paranormal. Coming from her mother's side of the family, Mika will sometimes hear voices, or see apparitions. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it usually leaves her very rattled. That sort of thing isn't normal. Not that it will help her in the apartments.

As a 'werewolf', Mika has a strong sense of smell and hearing, and has better night vision than most. She also has stronger finger and toenails than the average human, and keeps her fingernails grown out, in case she needs them. She also has an amazing lung capacity, as her species is naturally prone to vocalizations. If Mika really wanted to let out a howl like her ancestors used to, it could easily be heard within a mile.
