✖ first trauma//post-partum - Video ✖

[The webcam turns on with a hiss of static just as there's a scream from one of the bedrooms and a girl in her mid-twenties bolts into the camera's pickup range.]

What the--! Where is this?! Chelsea? Taylor? This isn't funny! I said I wanted to study paranormal activity, not get locked into a creepy apartment! Where the hell's my phone?! Guys?

Guys?

Oh come on! [Hysteria? Yeah, she's got it.]

Voice, going back to not trusting any of you motherfuckers

Don't worry, they only come out at night.

... I've never heard it before. And... I don't know. If there are, I haven't met any. But if there are, you probably won't have to worry about them; just the ghosts.

[Pauses as she hears that.] ... Oh, look. It sounds like we have a volunteer. Just use it to tape the door up, and try not to waste it; you might not get any more if you run out.

Video, so you can laugh at her fumbling with her roll of tape

At night. Got it.

It wasn't an insult. Technically. I'll explain later when Casper isn't trying to break in. Oh God, how am I going to get out of here? Much less sleep if I can't?

Tape up the door? Like, along the edges? Why couldn't these sorts of things come with user manuals?

Voice, at least you have a drywall coach

[identity profile] longest-week.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I never suggested it was, only that if it was an issue for you, it wouldn't need to be. [Karasu the creepybitch aside. But hopefully this kid's smart enough to steer clear of that gleeful nutcase.]

An "X" across it should work just as well, and it's easier to pick off later when it's gone.

Video, thank goodness for that

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Mika does not want to be anywhere near the door, but she rips off a couple lengths of tape and slaps them on in a hasty cross formation.]

I was just asking in case there were something like, I don't know, flesh eating zombies or random wendigos stomping around that people needed to watch out for or whatever. Oh man, what kind of mess did I get myself into this time..?

[identity profile] longest-week.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that should do it. It'll go away in a second.

... Wendigos?

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I appreciate the help.

Wendigos, big nasty things whose legends are native to North America. Apparently they're the cursed spirits of men who became cannibals. They're unbelievably fast, can mimic human voices, and are generally bad business.

Don't mention it.

... Ah. Never heard of it, but I haven't dealt with anything like that lately. So there probably aren't any here yet.

[Oh, be happy she's not the kind of person who'd take advantage of this for the lulz.] Also, if it helps, not all of the ghosts are violent, but that's only a rare few. One is a little boy who only follows you around, and maybe calls you "Nee-san" if he so pleases.

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[That's a relief. Mika is unfortunately rather gullible] Nee-san? Huh, that's unusual. Well, it's nice to know that not everything's out to eat me.

Voice

[identity profile] longest-week.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Nee-san. Sound familiar to you? [Don't mind her she's just fascinated by the prospect of other cultures. >>]

... What, so the rest of us don't count?

It's Japanese, short for "big sister." [Don't mind her, she's kinda nerdy.]

You do, I just didn't know there was anybody else here until you said so.

I see, so you have Japanese back in your world. Unless I'm wrong?

Oh, that reminds me. I'm Megu. You?

Re: Voice

[identity profile] notlikethemovie.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, we do. [Tailwags!] Wait, did you just say 'world'? Why do I feel like I've been sucked into a bad movie?

I'm Mika. Mika Whitepaws. Nice to meet you, Megu. Er, sort of. Minus the whole creepy apartments thing.

Re: Voice

[identity profile] longest-week.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Blink. Tail?] Yeah, world. Long story, doesn't make a bit of difference here, so I'm not sharing it. All I can say is that we don't have Japanese where I'm from, as far as I know.

... Mika, then? Nice to meet you too.

Oh man, talk about asking questions and only ending up with more. This is so crazy.

If you want to ask about different worlds, pick someone else. That's one thing I can't tell you much about.

But like I said, it's not really relevant to the circumstances.

No, I think I've had enough weirdness to last for the rest of the day.

I don't think my brain could handle it as it is...
